Organizations

The ground you're responsible for was entrusted to you.

We are not a lawn service that also mows cemeteries. Cemetery and historic-site work is what we do, and it requires a different discipline: preservation-safe cleaning methods, hand tools near markers, knowledge of what a sunken row or an unmarked fieldstone means before a mower finds it. The damage done to historic burial grounds by well-meaning general maintenance is not reversible.

What we provide

• Seasonal and year-round grounds maintenance for cemeteries and burial grounds

• Preservation-safe monument and marker cleaning using D/2 Biological Solution, the standard approved by the National Cemetery Administration

• Overgrowth clearing and site recovery for neglected or abandoned sections

• Plot location, GPS mapping, and burial documentation

• Historic site and heritage property grounds care

• Ongoing contracts or one-time restoration projects

Why it matters?

Sankofa means it is not taboo to go back and fetch what you forgot. Across the Carolinas, historic burial grounds — particularly Black cemeteries — have been lost to time, deferred budgets, and neglect. When they go, the record of the people buried there goes with them.

The organizations that hold that ground are the last line. We're here to help you hold it.
